WITH an average temperature of 16.7 C, 2011 was the hottest on record, according to preliminary figures from state met office AEMET. Last year narrowly beat the previous record year which was 2006 with 16.67 C. The highest temperature in 2011 was recorded on August 19 in Moron de la Frontera (Sevilla) with 42.5 C. Meanwhile, with a freezing -13.6 C, the coldest temperatures was recorded in Molina de Aragon, near Madrid. The Cadiz town of Jerez saw the highest autumn temperature with 36.5 C on October 12
